Adults

At times it is difficult to experience all of life’s challenges and pitfalls, leaving us feeling lost or overwhelmed. At these times in our journey we are often left asking ourselves some of life’s biggest questions: What do I want out of life? Why do I keep ending up in the same situations? What is the meaning of life? How can I find happiness?

We walk beside you as you explore these and other questions in your life. Working with you as a “whole person” we look at how your lifestyle, relationships, physical health and personal values create ineffective patterns and behaviors. With a focus on your skills and strengths, we work together to overcome anything keeping you from living life to its fullest.

Couples and Marital Therapy

Couples and
Marital Therapy

The best time to seek out help in a relationship is when it becomes off balance and headed away from joy and harmony, although this is not always a reality for couples and professional help is sought after a breaking point. No matter which side you are on, whether your relationship is just beginning and want to adjust for the long-haul or if you have passed the breaking point and are trying to prevent the end, we can help. With the relationship as the focus, no one person is identified as a problem and instead communication, interactions, and patterns of behaviors are examined to reduce barriers and stressors that breakdown the relationship.

Families

The family is a system of individuals with interactions between each of them, and we approach working with families to discover the role each person plays, patterns of interactions, and outside factors effecting the family. By using a family systems approach, blame or fault is not directed towards a single individual, instead, all individuals work collaboratively to realign interactions and family members to be more compassionate, patient, and loving to one another. We welcome whoever you define as “family” on a journey of striving to respect, communicate, and have fun. Let us help you reorganize and develop a better flow in your relationships so that you can enjoy each other again.

Adolescent

Adolescence is a complicated time at best. Many forces and influences impact and change a teenager on a consistent basis, including social influences, academic demands, biological changes, and family dynamics. With all that is expected from our teenagers today, it is easy for them to get off balance and lose their way. A developmentally appropriate approach to working with tweens and teens is necessary in figuring out emotions and ways to communicate needs. Therapy can provide an adolescent with a place to safely and freely express themselves, as well as work towards gaining a better understanding of themselves and how to navigate the world. As children are heavily influenced by family, parent education and family therapy is often part of an adolescence’s process.

Supervision

Supervision is a collaborative venture

Arrow Mental Health prides itself in providing a supportive, encouraging, and challenging environment for intern and associate level counselors to grow professionally. It is our desire to not only help growing counselors and therapists to develop and fine-tune their skills, but also to discover their own unique identities as professionals. Supervision is a collaborative venture, whether it is individual, triadic, or group format. While ensuring a systemic perspective, an Experiential supervision model is used to allow supervisees to engage and connect while learning new material and perspectives. Elements of Psychodynamic and Narrative models are also incorporated, offering a well-rounded supervision experience.

Long distance supervision is offered for supervisees unable to meet physically for supervision sessions but would still like to receive supervision. Distance supervision via the Internet is conducted in a synchronous format and includes all the elements of an in-person meeting. The amount of distance supervision allowed is determined by your licensure track. Case presentations and other supervisory paperwork are formatted for the distance model and can be shared through secure platforms.

Currently, Arrow Mental Health offers Associate supervision conducted by Dr. Fitzgerald. Dr. Sean Fitzgerald is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in Washington State and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor in California.
